About The Consultancy
This Consultancy serves three key purposes: 1) to provide a focal point for training delivery to the beneficiary. 2) To work closely with the senior project staff to provide mentoring and training support to the beneficiary. 3) To support and develop the local-national Instructors in planning and delivery of courses for the beneficiary.
Deliverables
Training delivery of courses:
- Planning & preparation of courses (military specific Tactics, Techniques & Procedures)
- Execution & delivery
- Collation of training statistics
- Production of weekly reports (to include supporting photos)
- Production of Operational Vignettes
- Supporting and answering RFIs as directed
- Collaborative working with local national Instructors
- Enabling & assisting Short Term Training Teams as directed
Mentoring support:
- Unit S3 & Officers
- Support development of local national Instructors training experience
Liaison:
- Unit HQ Staff
- Senior Project Staff
Additional duties:
- Visits: support, enable & host VIP visits (Donor & Donor related visits)
- Adhere to Project Security Plan
- Adhere to Project deployment directive
- Adhere to Project dress Policy
- Carry out tasks as directed by Project Management and Senior Staff
Requirements
You'll be an experienced ex-military candidate with demonstrable experience of training and mentoring foreign national armed forces in the MENA region. Ability to deliver current and applicable infantry-based tactics, techniques and procedures tailored to the local operating environment is essential. You will be highly disciplined, motivated, and reliable, with the ability to communicate and brief very senior military and government representatives. Only candidates that have achieved a minimum rank of Senior Non-Commissioned Officer will be considered for this role.
Skills, knowledge and experience:
Essential:
- Ex-military veteran with infantry background and minimum rank of SNCO
- Recent and demonstrable experience of planning and delivering military training
- Experience of deployed military operations.
- IT literate and ability to produce written reports and presentations
- Robust, motivated and self-disciplined
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to mentor local nationals.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in MENA region.
- Must be willing and able to work in austere environments
- Additional military experience or qualifications e.g. range management & safety, support-weapons specialisations, mobility, first aid, reconnaissance, observation, communications.
