Position Summary
The Thales Integration Lab Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the lab SILs (System Integration Lab), which includes managing and maintaining the SIL hardware configuration consistent with the field configuration, lab networking infrastructure and wireless communication to the SILs. The System Integration Lab Technician will work with the respective Fleet, Test or Software Development Engineers to help identify and resolve hardware issues as well as software configuration issues with the SILs. The Integration Lab technician will also support all Hardware Engineering activities.
Essential Functions / Key Areas Of Responsibility
Troubleshoot and repair Document and provide status
Maintain the hardware in the Dubai SIL (System Integration Lab), including lab inventory of personal electronics.
Manage the repair of a spares pool of hardware for the SILs and tracking them in SAP
Configuring SIL software to a known nominal state if required
Solder and understand voltage meters
Interpret schematics or Cable Drawings and build to specification
Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language
- Minimum 8 years working experience in building complex systems with multiple LRUs, network environment
- Understanding of wiring diagrams and schematics
- Basic understanding of (Windows and Linux operating systems)
- Understanding of SAP, Inventory Control process, and the ordering of material processes.
- Understanding of basic network operations such as setting up switches, Routers
- Must have electronic technician capabilities such as electrical, mechanical skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Self- starter, ability to multitask and prioritize activities
- Must be able to demonstrate a team player mindset
- Experience in building complex systems and troubleshooting
- Logical approach to problem solving
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of aircraft systems
- Previous experience with avionics design, documentation and working with a development team preferred
- Ability to Use SAP as required
- Shown the ability in creating of AEL packages for the LFM EPA's, (creating PO's, IPOs, and additional lab resources needed for completion of a labs Ancillary needs)
