Our client is a leading Chemical Industry Logistics Solutions Provider. They seek a meticulous & experienced Inventory Planner who will be responsible for material requirements including planning, supplier technical evaluation, technical inspection of procured materials, and ensuring inventory master data accuracy in the ERP system.
Perform technical evaluations of received technical offers and correspond with vendors for technical clarifications.- Conduct technical inspections for incoming materials to ensure they meet technical specifications and issue discrepancy reports for non-conforming materials.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for discrepancies.
Produce stock analysis reports to maintain optimal inventory levels, including economic order quantities and minimum/maximum parameters.
- Monitor stock movement to identify non-moving, slow-moving, and redundant stock.
Review and approve purchase requisitions for materials due for replenishment according to planning reports.- Plan and arrange required spare parts for plant general shutdown (GSD) and Engineering Service Department (ESD).
Follow up and support the fulfilment of urgent material requirements, communicating with the purchase and user departments to establish material availability.
Prepare, organize, and create master items and cataloguing systems for new projects and plant operations.
- Enhance and maintain master data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Verify and amend master data from physical stock checks to initiate corrective actions in the ERP system.- Conduct site visits to verify specifications and ensure the suitability of required spare parts, identifying interchangeability and duplications.
- Inventory Analysis & Optimization:
Carry out inventory analysis to identify materials for long-term purchase agreements.- Make recommendations on inventory standardization and identify obsolete, non-moving, and moving items.
Coordinate with users to identify obsolescence and minimize it.
- Inspect deteriorated materials and propose refurbishment or disposal.
Work closely with warehouse personnel to optimize warehousing functions.- Propose suitable packaging, storage, and preservation specifications for various stock materials.
Provide required reports, technical advice, and guidance on materials-related issues.- Ensure all activities comply with company quality, safety, and environmental procedures and instructions.
Actively participate in and support HSSEQ systems, including training and behavioral-based safety programs.
- Qualifications and Experience Required:
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory planning, materials management, or a related role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Proven experience with Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) planning and materials coordination.- Certification in Inventory Management like APICS CPIM is preferred.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems, specifically in inventory management modules.
- Strong understanding of material requirements planning (MRP) and inventory control processes.
Proficiency in conducting technical evaluations and inspections of materials.- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to produce and interpret stock analysis reports.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with vendors, purchase departments, and user departments.
Problem-solving skills to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.- Ability to perform site visits and verify specifications for spare parts.
Knowledge of international standards and specifications for materials.
- Familiarity with HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality) systems and procedures.
