IT Administrator is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of company computer systems, servers, and data security systems. The administrator ensures that internal IT structure of the enterprise remains up-to-date. Administrators avert possible cyber-attacks for greater productivity as per company policies and procedures.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
Server and Network Administration:
- Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policies, File Server administration
Operating systems: Windows, Mac OS
- Networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
Firewall: FortiGate, IPSec and SSL VPN- Cisco Switches, Cisco Meraki, VLAN, WLAN
Access Control Systems, Attendance Devices
- Basic network troubleshooting, Patch Panels, Network Connectors, and Cabling
VOIP: Avaya IP Phones and Avaya Office Manager
Software and Application Management:
- Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft 365 Applications
Windows updates and application installation packages
- Backup monitoring and management, Antivirus software
Knowledge of NAS, SAN, and RAID configurations
Technical Support:
- Server Operating System troubleshooting
Desktop, laptops, printers, and Microsoft Office applications troubleshooting
- Diagnosing and resolving network issues
Administrative and Compliance:- Managing user accounts and access permissions
Ensuring data security and compliance with company policies- Monitoring and maintaining IT inventory (hardware and software licenses)
Assisting with procurement
- Asset Management: Tracking and managing IT assets, including hardware and software inventory
Onboarding and Offboarding: Managing the setup and deactivation of user accounts, devices, and access for new hires and departing employees
Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
