Job Title: IT Technician
Position Reports to: Facility Manager
Location: Dammam, Saudi Arabia
SUMMARY: Support and maintain data center infrastructure; ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of data center equipment and systems.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Network & Infrastructure Support: Configure, monitor, and maintain network hardware and systems, including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to networking, connectivity, and hardware within the data center environment
- System Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance on data center equipment, including servers, network devices, and storage systems
- Security & Compliance: Ensure compliance with data center security protocols and policies. Apply patches and updates in line with security requirements
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, network configurations, and equipment inventory
- Installation & Upgrades: Assist with the setup, installation, and upgrade of network and server hardware, cabling, and other infrastructure components
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with IT and support teams to ensure smooth data center operations and quick resolution of issues.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelors degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics or equivalent
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and JNCP (Juniper Networks Certified Professional) required
- Proficiency with networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)
- Strong understanding of cabling, power, and cooling standards in data centers
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office environment including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
EXPERIENCE:
- Requires 5+ years in data center or IT infrastructure support roles
- Experience with monitoring tools and data center management software
- Hands-on experience with server installation and troubleshooting
- Experience with scripting or automation tools for network management.
