We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Cuisine to lead the kitchen team and bring this vision to life.
Job Summary:
As the Chef de Cuisine, you will play a pivotal role in the successful launch and ongoing operations of this new restaurant. You will be responsible for managing all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service. Your leadership will inspire a team of culinary professionals, driving creativity and excellence in every dish. Your role will encompass menu development, inventory management, staff training, and maintaining impeccable hygiene and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Development:
- Design and innovate seasonal menus that reflect the culinary traditions and modern interpretations of Venetian cuisine.
- Ensure all dishes meet high standards of taste, quality, and presentation.
- Collaborate with the management team to introduce new concepts and promotions for the restaurant's grand opening and beyond.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the setup of the kitchen, ensuring efficiency and consistency in food preparation and service.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and establish optimal stock levels.
- Implement and enforce kitchen safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards from the start.
- Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Lead by example, demonstrating exceptional culinary skills and a commitment to excellence.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the kitchen budget, controlling costs and optimizing resources.
- Monitor food and labor costs, implementing measures to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Analyze financial reports and adjust strategies to achieve financial goals.
- Guest Experience:
- Ensure that every dish served exceeds guest expectations in taste and presentation.
- Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally, making adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a visible presence during service times, interacting with guests and ensuring a memorable dining experience.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Executive Chef in a high-end restaurant.
- Extensive knowledge of Venetian and Italian cuisine, with a flair for creativity and innovation.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and controlling costs.
- High standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
