Job Title: Junior Software QA Tester

FYI is seeking an entry-level Junior Software QA Tester to join our team. As a QA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our groundbreaking app meets the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with the development team to implement and maintain automated testing processes, helping to identify issues before they reach the end-users.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain manual test cases, and contribute to regular manual QA testing of our application across all platforms (iOS, Android, MacOS, iPad). Monitor system and software functionality. Ensure offerings are entirely functional.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report defects, working closely with the development team to ensure prompt resolution and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions. Log issues with clearly written steps and follow rigorous reporting guidelines.
- Work closely with development teams, product managers, and other QAs to understand product requirements, collaborate on test strategies, and ensure complete test coverage.
- Continuously monitor and assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the existing test suite, refining and enhancing as necessary to address evolving requirements and maintain best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, relentlessly pursuing quality-focused initiatives that will ultimately lead to an outstanding user experience for our customers.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance test documentation to support efficient and effective knowledge transfer, both within the QA team and across the broader organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Under 2 years experience in QA.
- Experience using JIRA or other QA tracking tools.
- Strong understanding of mobile application platforms (iOS and Android) and their testing methodologies, including performance and compatibility.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to identify, isolate, and document defects in software applications.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with a demonstrated ability to seamlessly interface with team members and stakeholders of all levels.
- A self-starter who can work independently and take full ownership of responsibilities, while still thriving in a collaborative team environment.
