A recently initiated research project is dedicated to applying management systems in personal life. The Institute for Life Management Science (ILMS) is a global research organization that aims to establish Life Management Science as an integrative discipline by combining managerial science approaches with social sciences. A multi-disciplinary research team explores the structure and application of personal management systems supported by a comprehensive scientific and practice-driven body of knowledge across 12 centers (Personal Science, Relationships Science, Family Science, Parenting Science, Household Management Science, Home Organization Science, Personal Productivity Science, Personal Resilience Science, Happiness Science, Wellbeing Science, Longevity Science, and Affluence Science. The ILMS initiative's products are training, templates, toolkits, publications (articles and research reports), podcast content, and others.
Position Overview:
The Junior Grant Writer will assist in advancing our grant proposal efforts, working closely with the Senior Grant Writer to research funding opportunities, draft compelling proposals, and manage application submissions and collaborations. This role provides hands-on experience in grant writing, allowing the candidate to build a strong foundation in grant development, project management, and research. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly organized, and has strong writing and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Grant Research and Identification: Support the research and identification of funding sources, including foundations, government agencies, and corporate sponsors, that align with organizational goals and projects.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with the Senior Grant Writer to draft, edit, and submit grant proposals and funding requests. This includes gathering documentation, relevant data, and supporting materials, and ensuring compliance with grant guidelines.
- Documentation and Database Management: Organize and maintain records of grant applications, and assist with database management to track application statuses and deadlines, providing regular updates to leadership, detailing project progress and outcomes.
- Collaboration and Communication: Gather project details, metrics, and data for grant proposals and support cross-functional communication to ensure accurate, timely submissions.
- Professional Development: Actively pursue learning opportunities to understand the grant writing process, funder priorities, and industry trends.
- Additional Tasks: Other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in grant writing or fundraising is preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a high level of organization and independence.
