Junior/Senior Operations Officer

Purpose

Responsible for all DVP and Non DVP transactions.

Responsibilities

1. Prioritize work based on settlement cycles and custodian deadlines.

2. Create and code new clients and stocks in the brokerage systems.

3. Advise management of potential risk items (failing trades, aged break itemsetc.).

4. Respond to clients queries and requests related to their accounts with the firm and outstanding trades.

5. Responsible for receiving the clients correspondences aimed at financing their trading accounts.

6. Send daily trade confirmations to custodian banks and clients.

7. Open accounts with the local brokers and custodian banks in the region.

8. Provide the trade support team with the status of outstanding trades related to market changes.

9. Retrieve the cash statements from all custodian banks and provide the accounting team with details of the daily settled trades.

10. Handle all trades and cash settlements linked to the firm's custody and brokerage clients.

11. Ensure compliance with all applicable AML/CTF rules and regulations as required in the conduct of the role.

12. Ensure timely completion of all relevant AML/CTF training provided by the Group.

13. Ensure response to AML, CTF & sanctions inquiries in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Banking.

2. Experience:

a. Analyst Associate: 0 - 4 years experience in a similar role.

b. Associate Vice President: a minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role.

3. Good understanding of stock market concepts and dynamics.

4. Good command of Arabic and English.

5. Good communication skills (written, verbal and listening).

6. Able to build partnerships and work well in teams.

7. Flexible in handling new tasks.

8. Can identify problems and refer/escalate complex issues to a higher level.

9. Detail oriented; works with a high degree of accuracy.

10. Multi-tasker, with the ability to meet changing deadlines.

11. Manage pressure and conflicting demands and prioritizes tasks and workload.
