Job Description
We are looking for a Lab Manager to manage the laboratory team in the UAE, including site and lab-based personnel.
Responsibilities
- Review project requirements, organize and implement appropriate techniques. Assist in the proposals and planning and prepare method statement and quality plans for field tests as needed.
- Manage team of lab personnel, coordinate closely with Quality Teams, Engineering teams, and Consulting team, as well as Project Managers as needed. Responsible for technical quality of completed lab tests and field tests. Monitor and prioritize planning and workload of projects to ensure efficient and adequate resources are allocated to achieve project deadlines. Liaise with site teams to collect information, receive data and provide assistance for ground investigation sites, as needed.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving processing of laboratory testing, in-situ field testing, interaction with third party labs, and providing onsite lab testing facilities as needed. Responsible for testing equipment, its maintenance, operation and inventory control.
- Monitoring, training and mentoring lab personnel.
- Prepare lab report, laboratory program and work with Principal/Senior Engineering Geologist/Project Engineer for final deliverable.
- Client Delivery Provide service in accordance with standard practices to meet client's request and contract specifications, both internal and external clients. Responsible for data management from site, laboratory and office to ensure appropriate QA/QC is performed on project deliverables.
- Prepare and provide qualified personnel and testing during internal and external audits.
- Resource Management Compile and updated reference library folder for training and knowledge sharing with team members and other departments. Keep up to date on new industry technology, standards and procedures.
- Ensure that Fugro policies and procedures are understood, implemented and adhered to by all employees.
Requirements
- Experience in laboratory testing and management is a must. Commercial experience with external clients is a plus.
- Master's degree in engineering or Geosciences or any similar discipline.
- 10 years of experience.
- Great leadership and organizational skills.
