Job Purpose:
As a Laboratory Chief Type II, you will be responsible for the implementation of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) and Saudi National Technical Training Program (SNTTP), to train RSAF/SNTTP Trainee Technicians from Skill Level 3 Qualified to Skill Level 7 Qualified, in accordance with RSAF Training Policies, Procedures, Plans, Directives and Documents, ensuring maximum use of available resources and using Best Practice Principles in order to ensure excellence in Training delivery and outcomes.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Laboratory Chief Type II advises the MetCal Wing Commander and Operations Manager on the daily operations of all Secondary Calibration Squadrons (SCSs) in KSA and will manage MetCal SCSs in accordance with RSAF Instruction 4-7702 and as directed by MetCal Wing Commander and Operations Manager.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Will hold a minimum University Degree in an appropriate subject, (e.g. Physics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or Computer Science) or other qualifications as agreed by the MetCal Wing Commander and will have completed formal training (Factory or Service) for electronic, Electro-mechanical or instrument-mechanical and other kinds of measuring instruments utilised in dimensional, barometric, temperature. Will have seven years extensive practical experience of measurement techniques in Test Measurement, diagnostic and rectification of Equipment, which will have been spent in metrology, calibration and standards repair. Must provide evidence of having effectively performed in a technical management post over a period of five years, additional to the seven years experience.
Must possess appropriate English speaking and writing skills and the ability to compose and construct clear and understandable letters and reports. An ability to communicate with high level RSAF and BAE Systems using proper tact, protocol and diplomacy, and to draft technical procedures, reports and staff evaluations as directed. Must possess a high standard of personal integrity and fully committed to working to a high standard of ethical behaviour.
Will have operated successfully at a senior level in a complex technical production organization and have extensive practical experience in a modern military or civilian technical environment. Full knowledge of and experience in calibration methods of certifying measurement accuracy and an understanding of national and international metrology activities and technical exchanges.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the MetCal Wing Commander and Operations Manager in the daily administration and direction of all Secondary Calibration Squadrons (SCSs) in KSA. Manages SCSs and conformance with RSAFI 4-7702 and other relevant RSAF procedures as directed by MetCal Wing Commander. Provide advice and recommend metrology solutions in the planning of future calibration capabilities, equipment, manning, facilities and training requirements.
Review the resources, procedures and processes to develop capability, maximise performance and ensure timely customer support. Use statistics to analyse key performance indicators (KPI) for production output and turnaround time of calibration/production processes.
Provide production reports and presentations on metrology activities to the MetCal Wing Commander and Operations Manager. Maintain effective communication with all Secondary Calibrations Squadrons (Dhahran, Taif, Tabuk, Jeddah, Khamis and Al Kharj) to ensure technical knowledge and calibration activities status and requirements are disseminated to the MetCal Wing Commander.
