Job Purpose

Lead the Building & Places team by overseeing the monitoring of the landscape architecture designs progress, managing cost control and providing direction on the development process to ensure that the deliverables are submitted and works are executed by the consultants as agreed in terms of quality, standards, materials, schedule and cost in order to meet The Red Sea Global's (RSG) business objectives and requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Contribution

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the annual business plan, and target and implement the strategic agenda of the Buildings & Places function to deliver TRSDC's vision and mission.
  • Ensure that the strategy is translated into operational business plans for the Buildings & Places function and monitor the performance and execution of those plans to achieve functional objectives and deliver the company's strategy.

Leadership

  • Direct the activities of the project and landscape architecture design team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently in line with the strategic project management plans, policies and procedures.
  • Build and lead a motivated, engaged and competent team by setting priorities and objectives, managing performances and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals.
  • Serve as a role model to ensure employees awareness and commitment to TRSDC's vision, mission, values, fundamentals and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources and continuously improve performance.

People Management

  • Estimate and forecast the number and qualification of the project and landscape architecture design management workforce needed to avoid shortage of staff and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Supervise and evaluate employees performance with continuous feedback on their assigned targets and provide development opportunities to maximize potential and engagement of employees through mentoring, coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the identification of the respective employees training and developmental needs and bridge the knowledge gaps to ensure continuous progression and high-level of competence within the team.

Buildings & Places Management

  • Oversee the preparation of tender documents, contribute in defining the design specifications of materials and the scope of work, and initiate the bidding process to appoint a contractor/consultant.
  • Oversee the development of program and project delivery schedule by defining development phases and road maps for project teams to ensure that time and cost are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Lead the review of the programs and projects ensuring stakeholder engagement and alignment with the relevant functions.
  • Oversee the monitoring of program and project progress through site visits and reviewing of reports from Landscape Architecture Directors to ensure that project implementation is progressing according to plan and quality required.
  • Manage relationships with the consultants and subconsultants, plan upcoming works, oversee the quality of work and recommend appropriate design material specifications to ensure that project delivery date and parameters are met.
  • Provide direction on the management of risks in order to create preventative risk methods and avoid potential delays and added cost.
  • Provide technical direction to the Landscape Architecture Directors when needed.

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the Buildings & Places function's systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, business process improvement, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture/Landscape Architecture or any related field
  • AIA/RIBA certified or equivalent (preferred)
  • 12-15 years of relevant experience.
