Job Description
Receive legal issues and cases from other departments, study and organize them and handle them directly or with the support of external legal counsel.
Draft, review, and manage agreements, contracts and deeds and oversee such work done by external legal counsel.
Monitor legal risk in documentation and with the support of external legal counsel, give guidance on the acceptable assumption of risk.
Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for natural and juristic persons.
Ensure that appropriate approvals are in place before documents are executed.
Explain the law and give legal advice to the management and all departments with the support of external legal counsel as needed. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure the business needs are met.
Work with the compliance department, human resources, and the business development department to manage regulatory and compliance-related services.
Be the liaison between external counsel and internal teams. Manage legal costs through efficient use of external counsel s time and resources.
Collate and manage records of all legal cases, agreements, and other legal documents.
Desired Candidate Profile
Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Sudan law (essential).
Admitted attorney of at least two years standing.
Experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal documents.
Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
A natural leader who displays sound judgment and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills
Solid English and Arabic oral and writing skills..
