We are seeking a dynamic and talented Lawyer to join our legal team and contribute to our mission of shaping the future of finance. As a Lawyer specializing in banking, you will play a pivotal role in navigating the complex legal landscape of the digital asset industry.
Your role will involve advising and supporting in the following areas:
- Assisting the in-house legal team with various tasks, including contract drafting, management, and reporting, as well as addressing urgent matters from all Status teams.
- Understanding the priorities, legal requirements, and risks of Status.
- Reviewing, drafting, and revising various commercial agreements, service agreements, and NDAs.
- Conducting research on legal and regulatory risks to ensure Status meets its compliance obligations in evolving regulatory landscapes.
- Monitoring compliance issues across all teams, including time-sensitive requests.
- Collaborating with finance, operations, tech teams, and service providers as regulatory obligations and internal controls evolve.
- Maintaining legal documentation records and file systems.
- Implementing and upholding relevant policies and procedures as necessary.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- A law degree from a reputable university and legal training from a well-regarded international law firm (any jurisdiction worldwide), or an advanced degree (LL.M) with experience in legal research or compliance.
- 2 years of experience as a practicing lawyer or regulatory and compliance specialist, preferably with a focus on technology or financial markets, although not mandatory.
- Awareness and basic understanding of cross-border legal and regulatory issues and diverse legal systems.
- Proficiency in English for professional legal settings.
