LCV NORTHCOM NTC: Ammunition Handler

Program Summary

As part of the LOGCAP NORTHCOM scope, KBR provides rapid response support to scheduled and unscheduled U.S. Army training exercises. KBR's LOGCAP team successfully completed another year of support to Warfighter operations by providing typical LOGCAP services at two locations.

Job Summary

The Ammunition Handler is responsible for the safe handling of a variety of ammunition, explosives, and rockets. Receives, stores, and issues ammunition and residue items in support of Theater Ammunition Supply Point (TASP) operations.

Principal duties include receipt, storage, and issue of ammunition, ammunition components, and ammunition related material. Conduct periodic inventory of ammunition, ammunition components, and ammunition related material. Maintains and updates magazine data cards, ammunition store slips, storage plan-O-graphs, and other related documents. Interprets ammunition storage data and transportation drawings for DOT shipments. Loads and off loads explosives laden vehicles. Performs 100% inspection of all returned residue to ensure it is explosive free. Processes issues and turn-ins in accordance with established procedures.

Quality of Services: Performs principal ammunition accountabilities defect free. Provides timeliness and responsive Customer support while performing duties in a safe manner. Ensures all ammunition has been inspected and sealed by a QASAS prior to storing in the bunkers. Maintains worksites to the Company's lean standards to enhance production. Performs housekeeping of worksites and clears brush from fence line to 10 feet on both sides. Supports/participates in the Company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and QA program. Complies with Ammunition DoD instructions, DoD and U.S. Army Regulations and Pamphlets, Company SOP, and local work instructions and procedures.

Safety: Wears prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ensures equipment is properly dispatched with a dispatch logbook and performs daily PMCS. Maintains Company driver's license and at a minimum conducts forklift re-certification every three years. Maintains accountability and properly operates equipment under use. Observes policies, procedures, and regulatory guidance for explosive safety and OSHA/CALOSHA.

Physical Security: Observes strict key control procedures. Observes policy, procedures, and regulatory guidance for physical security.

Training: Trains, cross-trains, and enhances the performance of co-workers and other personnel. Attends training sessions as assigned. Annually re-certifies for Ammo 68. Complies with all Company rules, policies, and procedures.

Favorably interacts with internal/external customers. Will be required, on an as needed basis, to assist to perform functions in alternate areas of the project. Performs other duties as assigned.

Applicable Skills, Knowledge And Experience

  • Knowledge of ammunition and hazardous material handling to ensure the safe receipt, storage, issue, and movement of ammunition, explosives, chemicals, or radioactive materials in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to your start date and obtain a final Secret Security clearance and maintain it for the duration of your employment on this contract. Due to this, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for this position.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficient at verbal and written communication.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Three (3) or more years experience in military ammunition supply and/or other related installation or equivalent level ASP support service operations.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Additional Skills Or Experience Preferred

  • Licensed forklift operator 4K to 6K; knowledge of pallet building including 463L for shipment of ammunition; HAZMAT certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Army and DOD ammunition regulations preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of military ASP operations (U.S. Army preferred).
  • Must be able to complete AMMO 31, 45, 63 and 68 certifications within 90 days of assignment to the position with Ammo 68 being an annual refresher requirement.
  • Prior service as an MOS 89B (Ammunition Specialist) or similar military specialty code.
  • Prior military and/or contingency operations experience.

  • Work under stressful circumstances and meet shorts suspense dates
  • Must be free of medical restrictions/limitations that prevent the performance of required duties and/or prevent the wearing and utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Must be physically capable of performing the work in conditions of extreme temperatures, low humidity, rain, and blowing sand and dust
  • Employee shall utilize all proper lifting procedures and practices associated with all lifting and material handling tasks that are assigned and associated with this job description
  • May be required to work on uncommon hours of duty, extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must possess a valid California Class-C driver's license (non-California residents must obtain the proper driver's license within 10 days of beginning work) and be able to obtain a military operator's permit for each type of vehicle or equipment required to operate
  • Must meet the certification requirements of FORSCOM Reg. 350-10
  • Should be qualified prior to starting work, who meet or exceed the technical qualification required for a U.S. Army Ammunition Specialist, 89 CMF or civilian equivalent to perform receiving, storing and issuing conventional ammunitions, guided missiles, large rockets, explosives, and other ammunition and explosive related items IAW all pertinent reference material, AR 190-11, AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-2, AR Title:AFCAP V OCN/LN UAE: Escort (Secret Clearance)

Program Summary

KBR'S AFCAP V group provides ongoing support and operations services to the United States Air Force. The Security Escort Program acts as an integrated member of the unit providing operations continuity during rotation of personnel for OCN/LN personnel. KBR follows all AFCENT and local base escort policies at the three site locations to include Kuwait (AASAB Ali Al Salem Air Base), UAE (ADAB Al Dhafra Air Base), and Saudi Arabia (PSAB Prince Sultan Air Base).

Position Summary

Under general oversight and guidance from the Site Manager (SM) and Assistant Site Manager (ASM) the Escort shall provide observation services located at assigned locations to augment the unit's Security Monitor program. Shall work as an integrated member of the unit and provide operations continuity during rotation of personnel. The Escort uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes, resolve conflicts, and ensure mission success.

Responsibilities

  • Escorts un-cleared personnel into areas and monitors personnel while performing work.
  • Logs in and out all Local National (LN) /Other Country National (OCN) contractors and counts personnel before and after they perform duties; notifies appropriate personnel of how many people and vehicles are being escorted.
  • Monitors LN/OCN work until it is completed for the day and the work zone has been purged by trained Force Protection military personnel and all LNs/OCNs have exited base and/or returned to camps.
  • Ensures LN/OCNs do not bring onto the base any prohibited or contraband (i.e., weapons, drugs, etc.).
  • Ensures all local base escorting policies are followed by LN/OCNs workforce.
  • Consistently deescalate issues through communication in a professional and prompt manner.

Material & Equipment Directly Used

  • Use of Land Mobile Radios, cell phones, laptop, and other devices to maintain contact and accountability of work activities. The ability to drive company provided vehicles on and off base.

Physical Activities

  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 35lb, team lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting, or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending.
  • Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as, hearing and eye protection,
  • Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs. frequently, etc.
  • Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs.

Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizen.
  • US Passport with minimum one plus year validity remaining.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Must currently hold an Active DoD Secret Clearance or be able to obtain one prior to deployment.
  • Must be capable of meeting/maintaining deployment medical and dental requirements
  • Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must have effective communication skills (written/verbal) with exceptional problem resolution abilities.
  • Must be able to accommodate deployment travel within 2-3 weeks of accepting offer

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous military experience is preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years supervising or leading a team of ten or more personnel
  • Minimum of two (2) years of prior experience working overseas
