Position Overview
We are urgently looking to engage experienced Lead Service Engineer with significant offshore Cathodic protection survey experience, to join our fantastic survey team based in Sharjah. This will be a full-time permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
Cathodic Protection Surveys
- Lead and supervise cathodic protection surveys for offshore metallic structures, including pipelines, platforms, and subsea installations.
- Coordinate survey activities, including mobilization, data collection, and demobilization, ensuring adherence to project timelines and objectives.
Data Collection and Analysis
- Conduct CP measurements using specialized equipment and instruments to assess the effectiveness of cathodic protection systems.
- Analyze survey data, including potential measurements, pipe-to-soil potentials, and structure-to-electrolyte potentials, to evaluate corrosion risks and integrity concerns.
Interpretation and Reporting
- Interpret CP survey results and findings to identify areas of concern, corrosion hotspots, and deficiencies in cathodic protection systems.
- Prepare detailed survey reports documenting CP measurements, observations, and recommendations for corrective actions or maintenance interventions.
Recommendations and Remediation
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations to address corrosion issues, optimize cathodic protection systems, and mitigate corrosion risks. Collaborate with engineering teams and clients to develop remediation plans, including installation of sacrificial anodes, rectifiers, and protective coatings.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Implement quality control measures and procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of CP survey data and assessments.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to cathodic protection and corrosion management.
QHSSE Activities
- Adhere to company s integrated Management system and when on site, client's Quality Management System.
- Comply with company QHSE Management System.
- Report any unsafe act or unsafe condition; Stop and challenge any work that is considered unsafe.
- Identify and initiate actions to prevent occurrence of non-conformities in process or system.
- Promote a positive QHSE culture in the workplace.
- Responsible for continuous improvement of safety performance.
Educational Requirements
- Any bachelor's degree in engineering Mechatronics, Electronic & Communication, Instrumentation & Communication
Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills
- Certification or training in Cathodic Protection (e.g., NACE CP Level 3) is highly desirable
- Previous experience in cathodic protection surveys and corrosion monitoring, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Proficiency in CP survey techniques, equipment, and data analysis tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
- Ability to lead and manage survey teams effectively in a dynamic offshore environment
- Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, cathodic protection principles, and industry standards
- Knowledge of Survey equipment and activities
- Possess good Customer Service & Communication skills
- Conversant with MS office tools like M.S Word, M.S Excel, and M.S Power point, ERP System etc.
