Our center in Dubai is expanding, and we are looking for dedicated Learning and Therapy Support Assistants (LTSA) passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs. Sensation Station is based in a purpose-built facility equipped with the highest quality resources.
To work on 1:1 or group basis with children across nurseries, school and/or center setting.
- To deliver support strategies given by the education setting, parents and/or therapist.
Attend regular support/ supervision from an appointed professional.- To liaise with internal and external multidisciplinary teams working with the child which would include school staff.
To liaise directly with the childs parents via the preferred method.
- To implement support strategies in various environments and settings which could include school sports, attending the childs therapy sessions, school trips, recess times, art and music classes etc.
To be responsible for self-directed development to further skills as appropriate.- To demonstrate mindful decision making and self-awareness of capabilities to maintain a stable and safe relationship will the child and the team around the child. Ensuring that guidance is sought from school staff or supervisor.
To organise time and manage workload independently and communicating any barriers to this so that solutions could be adequately put into place.
- To maintain matters of the childs (and parents/carers) confidentiality at all times.
To maintain matters of Sensation Station and the schools you work in confidentiality at all times.- To fulfill any additional tasks assigned by your supervisor.
Minimum Completion of formal compulsory education. Preferably a minimum Diploma or bachelor level of a relevant field working with children/paediatrics that have additional needs. Ideal for someone who has experience as a TA/LSA or with a professional background in child services.
_Compulsory:_
- Competent command of written and spoken English.
Competency of supporting children within a formal, mainstream education curriculum.- Good standing certificate from the Police.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the child, parents, school staff and multi-disciplinary team.
_Experience can be either of the following_
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a school environment supporting children with SEND requirements as well as a formal relevant education qualifications.
OR
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a school environment supporting children with SEND requirements if you do not hold any relevant formal qualifications.
- Skills Required
To work effectively with various members of the therapy, teachers and parents.- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work flexibly under the guidance therapist
Have basic IT skills and the ability to use the internet, email, word processing, telephone & office equipment.
- Competent standard of English, both written and spoken.
