ROLE OVERVIEW:

The opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and driven legal generalist to join 54 KSA (the Company) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to advise the Company on a range of commercial, corporate, governance, and compliance matters across the MENA region but with a focus on supporting the 54 KSA office.

The successful candidate will work closely with the regional senior legal counsel, executive management, HR, and finance to:

• Lead on all Company and regional Company affiliate contracts with all third parties, including PIF subsidiary companies, Saudi sports federations, national giga projects, and various private local and international companies on a range of commercial agreements;
• Advise on and take responsibility for all governance and compliance matters, including insurance, personal data privacy and cyber security obligations, licensing, and filings with all relevant government authorities for the Company (and regional MENA Company affiliates as required);
• Manage and keep updated the Company's legal/contract and compliance database in various third-party applications;
• Advise and assist on Company employment issues and Saudi labour law matters;
• Act as a liaison between the Company and government authorities at all levels;
• Stay up-to-date with the latest laws, rules and regulations and best practices in relevant government portals such as MCI, Qawaem, Qiwa, Muqeem, MHRSD, MOFA, MISA, ETIMAD etc, and report on all relevant policy developments and legal changes that may impact the Company's operations;
• Other obligations as required to ensure the Company maintains compliance and good standing in Saudi Arabia and the MENA region.

Reporting to the regional senior legal counsel, the role will suit an individual with 4-6 years PQE corporate and compliance work, and ideally with some experience working in-house for an agency, brand, rights holder, or governing body within the sports industry.

A knowledge of the global sports industry landscape is desirable, and the candidate must be comfortable working on multiple projects and to tight deadlines.

The successful candidate will be based in Riyadh and international travel may be required on occasion.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You will have:

• Good interpersonal skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
• The ability to work on multiple projects and to tight deadlines.

DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

It would be great if you also have:

• In-house experience - this could have been gained on secondment.
• A knowledge and understanding of the sport industry.
• Experience working in a fast-paced start-up/scale-up environment.
• Experience of advising on issues related to event management.
• Experience advising on cross-border matters.
