We are looking for an excellent commercial lawyer to join the Miral Experiences Legal Department to focus on a new destination management company, which forms one of the Miral Group's subsidiaries. The successful candidate will have a robust commercial drafting background and experience working as a lawyer in the leisure and tourism field. Direct experience working for a destination management company or similar is strongly preferred.
This is a senior position. The candidate is expected to be responsible for a wide range of legal drafting, including complex legal drafting, managing the DMC focus area, and guiding it in making strategic decisions on legal risk.
The lawyer should be a motivated, strategically minded commercial lawyer who can balance the commercial needs of a growing company with compliance requirements. The lawyer should lead by example, be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, and form excellent relationships with stakeholders and within the legal team.
Job Scope:
Drafting and Reviewing Agreements
- Prepare and review various agreements, including:
- Reseller agreements.
- Hotel, leisure, and tourism supply agreements.
- Bed bank and GDS (Global Distribution System) agreements.
- General Supply Terms (GSTs).
- Procurement agreements, such as supply and services agreements.
Corporate Affairs
- Provide advice and interpretation on delegations of authority.
- Draft corporate documents, including:
- Minutes of meetings.
- Founders and board resolutions.
Compliance and Governance
- Conduct due diligence reviews and provide compliance and corporate governance advice.
- Review and update organizational policies.
- Assess and advise on insurance policies.
Training and Development
- Propose and lead legal training sessions and workshops tailored to business needs.
Advisory and Strategy
- Advise the C-suite and other business areas on legal risks and strategies.
The ideal candidate should have:
- LLB, or equivalent legal qualification
- Admitted as a lawyer/solicitor in the country or another jurisdiction
- Minimum 6 years PQE or equivalent
- Previous experience working in an in-house legal role
- 3 years experience working as a lawyer in the leisure and tourism industry
- 2 years experience in a similar role and previous experience working as a lawyer
- Previous experience working for government or semi-government companies
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Extensive knowledge and experience in country laws, focusing on commercial law.
- Proficiency in data protection laws and solid legal research abilities.
