Position: Logistics Coordinator
About Us: SOHO Group is expanding, and we're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Dubai. This position will provide crucial support for our new shops in the region, ensuring efficient logistics operations and contributing to our growth.
The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the logistics of inbound and outbound shipments. This includes selecting shipping methods, negotiating rates with carriers, booking shipments, and ensuring accurate and complete shipping documentation. The role involves maintaining inventory records, liaising with internal departments, and resolving logistics-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of import/export laws, tariffs, and SABER compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage inbound and outbound shipments.
- Select appropriate shipping methods and negotiate rates with carriers.
- Book shipments and ensure timely delivery.
Shipping Documentation:
- Prepare accurate and complete shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and commercial invoices.
- Ensure all documentation complies with relevant regulations and requirements.
Supplier and Shipment Monitoring:
- Follow up with suppliers on back-orders and update the system accordingly.
- Monitor shipments in transit and provide stakeholders with regular status updates until the shipment arrives.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ensure proper stock levels are maintained to meet operational needs.
Internal Coordination:
- Liaise with internal departments (sales, production, purchasing) to ensure smooth coordination of logistics activities.
- Provide support and assistance to other departments as needed to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Issue Resolution:
- Resolve transportation or logistics-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
Compliance and Knowledge Maintenance:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant import/export laws and procedures, tariffs and duties, licenses, and import restrictions.
- Ensure compliance with SABER end-to-end knowledge.
Data Analysis and Cost-Saving:
- Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement cost-saving measures to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
To be successful for this role, you need to have:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in logistics coordination or a similar role.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of import/export laws, procedures, tariffs, duties, and SABER compliance.
