JOB STATEMENT
Assist the Institute Director in providing high quality leadership to the teaching team at an ADEVTI Institute. The Manager - Academic Services is responsible for the delivery of the academic program and related academic matters on campus. The Manager - Academic Services supervises Department Chairs, provides guidance, ensures curriculum delivery as instructed by the Curriculum and Assessment Unit and oversees assessment process integrity. The Manager - Academic Services may represent the Institute Director in his/her absence in the Academic Advisory Council.
QUALIFICATONS & EXPERIENCE
Qualification(s)
- Master Degree in Engineering or other Vocational program area - required
- Bachelor Degree in Education
Experience Required
- 10 years of teaching experience
- 5 years in Academic Supervisory Position
- Learning paradigm and project-based learning
- Technologies that support educational development in line with current technological developments

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Comply with EHS Policies, Programs and Procedures as per ADVETI EHSMS-General Framework and take responsibility for any aspect of EHS that they are involved in
- Responsible for compliance with EHS Policies and Procedures as per the ADVETI EHSMS-General Framework
- Ensure that staff, students, visitors and contractors comply with all EHS Policies as per ADVETI EHSMS-General Framework at all times and during all events
- Responsible for ensuring the Academic policies and curriculum strategies are implemented across all program areas
- Monitor all academic and vocational skills instruction teaching to ensure faculty fulfill their roles in a professional, dynamic and energetic manner and ensure all teaching / instruction and support activity is conducted to the highest standards
- Responsible for all aspects of Academic Foundation and Vocational course programming and timetabling, in conjunction with Heads of Departments
- Ensure the timely production, approval and issue of all academic / vocational general instructions, weekly training programs, training instructions and dissemination of strategic direction to the academic / vocational departments
- Oversee departmental Quality Control and internal validation for all academic / vocational training documentation at the Institute
- Oversee, manage, educate and mentor staff in all aspects of personal development, where relevant and appropriate
- Advise and assist ADVETI in their personal development plan as required
- Monitor academic / vocational training resources/facilities and advise on the refurbishment of existing facilities and procurement of new resources, facilities and equipment
- Evaluates Performance and evaluation of Department Chairs and teaching faculty
- Facilitates Organizational Efficiency - Maintains good relationships with staff and students
- Complies with established lines of authority
- Orients and assists new faculty members and provides opportunities for their input into the Institutes programs
- Oversees Academic and Vocational programs procurement requirements e.g. teaching resources, materials and equipment required to carry out delivery programs
- Assures that the Institutes academic goals, policies, and procedures are accurately communicated to and followed by all faculty.Develop and utilize effective communication channels through staff meetings, written procedures, and any other means so that faculty are able to carry out their duties.
- Keep the Institute Director informed by making regular, timely, and relevant reports.
- Develops, monitors, modifies, and applies sound administrative practices to assure all teaching faculty and Department Chairs are properly assigned, supervised and evaluated
- Supports the creation and promotion of a healthy campus atmosphere which encourages student retention by treating all students fairly, with understanding, respect, and compassion while maintaining discipline
- Supports the marketing function, public relations campaigns and recruitment activity to enable the establishment and maintenance of the Institute as a preferred education choice for students
- The Manager Academic Services, reports to and is accountable to the Institute Director
- The Manager Academic Services has direct access to the Director as required and appropriate and has functional authority over all department faculty within Institute
