Job Summary:
Responsible to ensures uninterrupted and proper running of all medical and biomedical equipment in the hospital Also work on developing new medical technologies and treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity and reliability of biomedical devices.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for specialized repairs and technical support as needed.
- Coordinate with the IT cyber security team to ensure all biomedical equipment comply with the requirements for network connectivity.
- Conduct periodic inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
- Evaluate the technical specifications and performance characteristics of biomedical equipment to support procurement decisions.
- Coordinate the installation, calibration, and validation of new biomedical devices in collaboration with vendors, clinical staff, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management activities to enhance the performance and reliability of biomedical systems.
- Planning of medical equipment's for existing hospital and any new projects.
- Provides domain knowledge input during the pre-purchase stage of all biomedical equipment.
- Maintains a regularly updated inventory of all biomedical equipment in the hospital.
- Coordinates and evaluates the work performed by service contractors to include maintenance, calibration, installation and verification of service documentation.
- Conducts and assesses safety and risk assessment together with the FMS teams and develops measures to counter them.
- Vendor management and development with particular reference to vendors who can repair PCB's major assemblies that companies ask to replace at high costs.
- Collects monitoring data for the medical equipment management program.
- Develops and coordinates departmental quality initiatives.
- Strictly adheres to organization's regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient safety, HAAD, JCI and ISO.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Biomedical or related fields. Master's degree in biomedical engineering will be an advantage.
