JOB PURPOSE:
Focus on the consistent and efficient distribution and deployment of crew resources on published rosters, including the freighter operations, ensuring all recoveries and roster changes are managed with the company scheduling principles and policy agreements when executing operational tactics. Assume the role of deputy to the Senior Manager Manpower Planning and Crew and has the responsibility of commercial evaluations, team management and overall operation of the area in the managers absence.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Manage and monitor the allocation of the available reserve to provide the required daily standby and open time coverage. Forecast potential opportunities, challenges, and trends to design tactics and provide the maximum operational coverage.
Incorporate fatigue risk management principles in coordination with the various management teams for appropriate action while executing roster change.
Provide post roster analysis to identify usage of the crew resource including absence, removed from roster and long-term sickness to highlight potential roster inefficiencies and opportunities for change incorporating optimization.
Responsible to research, drive and influence improvements to company processes and systems to ensure the department is leveraging all possible technology available.
Manage the rostering and planning business analysis throughout system development, testing and acceptance. This includes recommending and analysis of new process, determining system customization requirements, testing system functionality, documenting specifications, new process mapping, requirement gathering from users and training end users. Ensure cost effective solutions and tools are available to best meet business objectives and requirements are translated to functionality of systems.
Manage the monthly feedback loop throughout the roster monthly workflow to incorporate roster activity and event information gained during the operational roster month.
Communicate potential changes and recommendations to crew pairing planners with the aim to limit roster disruption, fatigue risk, optimize crew bids and manpower costs in future rosters.
Manage the content of the Procedures manual. Based on the manual, develop, document, and maintain a training program for the teams so that a continuity of expertise exists within the section. Provide feedback, manage appropriate performance reviews that will support goals and objectives.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Working knowledge of training management systems, systems integration and implementation.
3+ years of vocational experience in a Crew Planning or Scheduling role.
Excellent knowledge of regulatory rules governing the crew rostering, i.e. GACA (or equivalent), CAA, FAA.
Experience in a crew training planning, crew scheduling or a related environment.
In depth knowledge and skills of Airline Operations Management.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree or Honors (12+3 or equivalent).
SKILLS:
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Analytical and critical thinking skills are necessary.
Strong understanding of aviation regulations and requirements related to crew rostering.
Fluency in English, Arabic would be an advantage.
