Job Purpose: As the Media Rights Manager for Esports World Cup you will responsible for developing and executing media rights strategies that maximize reach, generate revenue and brand exposure for esports properties. This role includes negotiating broadcast and streaming deals, managing media partnerships, and overseeing content distribution for esports events, festivals, and other digital assets. The ideal candidate has strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of the esports landscape, and experience working with media partners across digital and traditional platforms.
Duties And Responsibilities
Media Rights Strategy
- Develop media rights strategies to increase revenue and reach for esports content.
- Identify and pursue partnerships with streaming platforms, broadcasters, and networks.
Contract Negotiation
- Lead negotiations for media rights deals with national and international partners.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and manage renewals.
Content Distribution
- Oversee content distribution across digital and traditional media platforms.
- Monitor and optimize content performance across channels.
Revenue Optimization
- Identify and execute revenue opportunities through licensing, sponsorship, and advertising.
- Collaborate with sales to maximize monetization on all platforms.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Work closely with marketing, legal, and production teams to align media initiatives with business goals.
- Analyze performance data and provide insights to improve media strategy.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related field.
- 4+ years in media rights or digital media, ideally in esports or sports
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Direct experience in media rights acquisition, negotiation, and management within esports, sports, or digital media industries.
- Demonstrated expertise in handling large-scale, high-value partnerships with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven track record of structuring, negotiating, and managing complex, high-stakes contracts with national and international media partners. Expertise in terms related to exclusivity, revenue sharing, sublicensing, and content ownership.
- In-depth experience with digital streaming platforms (e.g., Twitch, YouTube, Facebook Gaming), broadcast channels, and social media, with an understanding of content monetization, platform-specific strategies, and audience targeting.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on revenue opportunities, including licensing, advertising, and bundling packages. Experience working closely with sales and sponsorship teams to develop integrated media offerings.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret media performance data, including proficiency in metrics analysis tools (e.g., Google Analytics, platform-specific analytics dashboards). Ability to create and adjust data-driven media strategies based on viewer insights.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a history of building and maintaining strategic partnerships. Experience managing and fostering long-term relationships with media companies, digital platforms, and internal teams.
- Very good written and verbal communication skills in English.
