POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Manager of Business Innovation will be based full-time in the MENA region and travel frequently (up to 50% of his/her time) to Amideast country offices and other countries in the region to support and expand Amideasts fee-for-service business in the education, training, and testing sectors. Working closely with HQ senior staff in Washington, DC and individual country offices, the incumbent will develop and execute targeted marketing plans to expand Amideasts proprietary fee-for-service client base, including, but not limited to, corporations, host government institutions, universities, schools, and individuals. The incumbent will work closely with program staff at HQ and in the field to co-develop new products and services to adapt to a changing marketplace. The incumbent will also work closely with the Communications team to design a strategy for digital marketing metrics to measure the success of campaigns and the associated ROI.

The incumbent will develop and maintain relationships with key contacts throughout the MENA region, assist country directors and their teams in identifying new clients, as well as increasing follow-on business with existing and/or recent clients. An emphasis will be placed on developing privately funded large-scale programs.

Reporting directly to the Headquarters Vice President for Business Development, the successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the MENA region, proven experience marketing in Amideasts core service areas, and verbal and written fluency in Arabic and English; a working proficiency in French is also desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager of Business innovation will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Support Amideasts field offices and HQ by developing and executing fee-for-service marketing plans, including market research, product positioning, and pricing strategies, to expand Amideasts proprietary fee-for-service portfolio across the organization
  • Analyze regional market trends and competitive activity to identify opportunities for growth and expansion of Amideasts fee-for-service portfolio
  • Work closely with senior HQ and field staff to develop and manage relationships with existing and potential fee-for-service clients to ensure alignment with marketing strategies and objectives
  • Work with the Strategic Communications staff to create targeted marketing collateral, such as brochures, presentations, and advertising campaigns, for the fee-for-service market
  • Collaborate with Strategic Communications and field office staff to ensure the localization of marketing materials, ensuring that they are culturally appropriate and effective in different countries
  • Collaborate with HQ and the country offices to select the most appropriate and effective marketing channels in each country.
  • Track metrics from digital marketing channels to determine key performance indicators, such as traffic/sessions, traffic by source, new vs. returning visitors, average session duration, bounce rate, conversion rate, cost per click, cost per conversion, and the overall ROI for a marketing campaign
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HQ senior staff, Business Development, Advancement, Strategic Communications, and Program staff, to ensure that marketing plans at the field level align with Amideasts wider organizational business goals and objectives
  • Support the development and maintenance of relationships with clients and key stakeholders
  • Lead client outreach and presentations for fee-for-service products to in collaboration with Amideast Country Directors

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in regional marketing, ideally in the MENA region, including market research, product positioning, and channel management
  • Knowledge of the private sector in the region and related trends
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience with digital marketing metrics and determining ROI for marketing campaigns
  • Demonstrated report writing skills
  • A solid understanding of the Middle East and North Africa, including substantive work experience in the region
  • A willingness to work in a highly collaborative atmosphere across multiple departments and offices
  • Spoken and written fluency in Arabic and in English
  • A working proficiency in French
