Job Purpose:
Product Safety Manager is accountable to deliver Vehicle programs in compliance with relevant safety standards, including interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Be the key point of contact for Safety enquiries from engineering teams, third-party assessment bodies.
- Plan, execute, track and report all activities under your responsibilities.
- Ensure clear and effective documentation management and retention to demonstrate compliance to relevant safety standards.
- Provide guidance, advice and ensure compliance with Functional Safety requirements for all vehicle programs.
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders (internal and external).
- Review engineering design against Safety requirements and advise modifications/solutions for non-compliant items.
- Ensure definition and deployment of the necessary policies, processes, procedures and controls in order to ensure compliance.
- Represent the company interests and interface with technical services, Independent assessment bodies and other partners.
- Promote and advocate the correct application of best practices across the engineering & manufacturing teams.

- Report status, anticipate roadblocks and propose solutions.
- Demonstrate focus for the purpose and big picture without losing attention to details.
- Ensure to keep abreast of latest safety updates and anticipate potential impact(s) for this organization.
- Support initiatives for lessons learned and best practices in the field of safety.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Competencies:
Education:
- Master of science in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or other related field, and/or equivalent post-graduate qualification from a recognized university.
Skills & Competencies:
- Thorough understanding (breadth and depth) of automotive product development and Functional Safety processes.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Problem solving.
- Proven track record of delivering safety work-products throughout all stages of the process.

Minimum Experience:
- 5 10 years relevant experience including at least 5 years in Functional Safety.
