Position Summary:
The Product Compliance (Chemical Substances) & Supplier Sustainability Manager assures that all products and their packaging worldwide supplied by Lumileds comply with all applicable regulatory requirements related to Chemical substances in manufacturing, products, and packaging (e.g., EU ELV directive, EU RoHS & WEEE directive, EU REACH regulation and its international pendants). In addition, internal and customer-specific requirements/policies regarding chemical substances must be implemented. That position is a pivot compliance gate keeper role for the creation process of new products, running production, and our supplier base.
The second pillar of that function is Supplier Sustainability Program, in which you actively vision and shape Lumileds global supplier sustainability performance. This includes supply chain risk analysis, identification of requirements and policies, rating definition, technical clarification, workflow optimization, orchestration auditing between suppliers and our the 3rd party auditing firm, supplier training materials design, and subsequent presentation, and establishing positive collaborative relationships and workflow processes with cross-functional teams, also be engaged into the supplier selection, qualification process, and business consequence process to ensure that suppliers to comply with Lumileds requirements.
What You Will Do:
Product Compliance:
- Monitor, evaluate applicability, and implement global legal requirements within the organization and its processes
- Design, maintain, and update the Hazardous Substances (HS), packaging, and E-waste compliance system
- Manage IT applications for compliance (e.g., BOMcheck, C2P, SCIP database)
- Maintain HS compliance processes throughout the product life cycle
- Conduct risk & compliance assessments and ensure corrective actions for HS non-compliance
- Communicate with internal & external stakeholders (HS compliance requests, remediate of non-compliances and complaints, reporting duties)
- Active supportive participation during product creation (BCP) and Engineering projects regarding compliance with HS, packaging, and E-waste requirements
- Act as the primary contact for HS compliance matters with Procurement, Supplier Quality Management, Sales, and Product Management
- Lead HS compliance training for colleagues and selected suppliers;
- Report packaging and E-waste
- Act as the contact person for chemical release processes and maintain the list of regulated substances
What You Will Do:
Supplier Sustainability
- Work with suppliers and Lumileds commodity managers on sustainability audit executions.
- Promote sustainability practices to improve supplier sustainability management system.
- Drive suppliers to improve their sustainability performance and close their major non-conformances identified from the initial or re-audits.
- Oversee, support, and steer resolving audits.
- Frequent supply chain risk assessments based on our risk prioritization and matrix;
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and the RBA Code of Conduct and ESG requirements (e.g., carbon footprint).
- Provide RBA and ESG-Strategy training to suppliers & internal stakeholders (onsite/remotely).
- Review supplier sustainability with the procurement team.
- Lead cooperation with suppliers and Lumileds commodity managers on driving the supplier sustainability audit program.
- Overseeing legal requirements related to our program;
- Maintaining program sustainability requirements on current versions of the RBA Code of Conduct.
- Report supplier sustainability improvement status monthly, mitigate and escalate challenges
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum of 3 years in Product Stewardship within a global corporate environment
- Minimum of 3 years of procurement and integrated supply chain experience in a global landscape, preferred through managing supplier improvement programs
- Bachelor's degree (preferably OHS, environmental, chemistry, material science or related);
- Understanding of legislative procedures and legislative contents
- Reasonable knowledge of hazardous substances legislation
- Extroverted, engaging, integer, and confident/sophisticated personality
- Pro-active and independent work style
- Excellent English verbal & written communication and presentation skills
- High level of collaboration, self-sustaining, and result-driven
- Experienced in problem-solving and sensitive situations
- Strong analytical skills, structured way of working, process-orientated thinking
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
