Job Description

Job Purpose:

This role is essential for driving the digital development of our platforms, ensuring they meet the needs of the business initiatives. The Technology Manager will blend technical expertise with leadership skills to deliver cutting-edge digital solutions that enhance user experiences and optimize operational performance ensuring top quality assurance, scalability, and system security. The Technology Manager will develop and implement technical strategies to optimize platform functionality, performance, and scalability in line with industry best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Platform Development Support: Assist with the integration, development, and enhancement of digital platforms such as websites, mobile applications, and booking engines.
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple platform development projects, using Agile methodologies to ensure efficient delivery and continuous improvement.
  • MarTech Platform Integration: Liaise with departments such as IT, Operations, and Cybersecurity, ensuring alignment of digital platforms initiatives with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Release Support: Validate all technical requirements and deliverables, providing support to the team with platform development and quality assurance.
  • CMS Support: Oversee the back and front-end development, such as component building, contributing to technical SEO, performance tracking, and ensuring a seamless digital experience. Manage content publishing within CMS platforms when required.
  • API Integration: Oversee the integration of third-party APIs, ensuring smooth booking processes, data exchange between systems, and optimal platform functionality.
  • Mobile App Management: Oversee the implementation and optimization of mobile apps, including in-app notifications, to enhance user engagement and improve user journeys.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure all platforms comply with industry regulations, particularly concerning data privacy, security, and adherence to hospitality standards.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with third-party tech developers, platform providers, and technology partners to ensure successful delivery and support.
  • User Experience Optimization: Work with UX/UI teams to ensure that digital platforms are user-friendly, visually appealing, and functionally efficient for guests and staff. Manage a team of developers, engineers, and UX/UI designers to deliver high-quality digital products on time and within budget.
  • Quality Assurance: Along with RSG's QA department, establish and enforce standards for coding, testing, and deployment, ensuring high-quality outputs and adherence to security protocols.
  • Innovation and Research: Stay informed about the latest digital trends, APIs, and technologies in the hospitality industry, and identify new opportunities for platform innovation.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Digital Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • +5 years of experience in technology management, specifically in digital platform development within a marketing or e-commerce context.
  • Technical knowledge in both front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular) and back-end (Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby) development.
  • Experience with API integrations, particularly for booking platforms, property management systems (PMS), and other hospitality-specific systems.
  • Knowledge of mobile and web app development, including experience with iOS and Android platforms.
  • Experience with content management systems (Adobe, Sitecore)
  • Quality assurance: Experience in quality control, or a related field. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong ability to analyze user data and translate insights into actionable platform improvements.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience in Agile project management and tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Preferred Arabic speaker.
  • Databases: Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
  • Cloud Services: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with guest management systems (PMS), booking engines, and hospitality-specific digital tools.
