Job Purpose:
- Manager, Wholesale Risk would be responsible in maintain a robust portfolio quality while supporting sustainable business growth in a relatively higher risk business segment.
- Incumbent would be responsible for underwriting Corporate credit proposals within delegated authority, approve MRS workflows and support team members
- Incumbent would deputize for Senior Credit Manager when necessary.
Key Result Areas:
Early detection of warning signals such as excesses, past dues, adverse market information, in order to ensure timely corrective action.
- Maintain targeted turn-around time for credit approvals
- Assist Senior Credit Manager by reviewing proposals in L2/L3 Credit Manager's whenever necessary and approving credits within the incumbent's own credit approval authority.
- Follow up with the relationship managers on daily exception reports to get the exceptions resolved.
- Prepare portfolio highlights for senior management review
Account and Portfolio Review
- Conduct portfolio/thematic reviews at regular intervals
- Monitor submission of half yearly/full year financial information and take suitable corrective actions wherever required to maintain portfolio quality
- Visit customers at regular intervals and conduct surprise warehouse visits
- Incumbent to work with various stakeholders to set-up suitable trigger mechanisms for the portfolio for pre-emptive review
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:
- University Graduate. MBA or equivalent is preferred.
- Min 5+ years of experience in banking / financial services is desirable
- Knowledge of MS Office such as MS-Word, MS-Excel, Power point
- High degree of analytical skills, ability to cut through excessive information to arrive at the key risk factors, keen eye for detail and ability to analyze complex data.
- Lending skills (credit, analytical, judgment) across various industries / lines of business
- Knowledge of regulations in different countries Mashreq now operates in.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiating skills, both internally within the organization as well as outside with other banks, borrowers and regulators.
