We are looking for an experienced and innovative marketing leader to join a thriving portfolio, across the Egypt, Energy and Cityscape division.

The division is looking to onboard an exceptional Marketing Director that is highly driven, innovative, an expert in the event marketing industry and always strives to lead teams in best practice marketing. The right candidate is used to creating portfolio level vision for marketing teams, setting and communicating OKRs, launching and growing event products and working across visitor acquisition, customer experience and exhibitor lead generation. They will be an innovator with an eye on improving effectiveness, ready to hit the ground running to work with our amazing marketing team to implement the 2024 strategy, and be prepared to start building the 2025 strategy and beyond.

The successful candidate would report into the Vice President of Egypt, Energy and Cityscape, be part of the EMEA Marketing Leadership team and work with a team of 30 marketers to deliver strategic marketing campaigns to drive engagement and audience delivery.

GOAL: TO SET THE TARGETS, VISION AND GROWTH OBJECTIVES FOR MARKETING IN THE PORTFOLIO, AND WORK WITH THE PORTFOLIO MARKETING LEADS TO ENSURE DELIVERY OF INCREMENTAL GROWTH

  • Ability to create a Marketing Vision to grow the portfolio in line with 3 year plan ambitions, delivering business-as-usual incremental growth alongside innovation
  • OKR setting aligned with business objectives, with the ability to break down and communicate targets into smaller objectives for team, and unite behind a common goal
  • Strong approach to understanding and developing product strategies for each event, identifying key growth areas and weaknesses, and working with event stakeholders to embed change cross-functionally
  • Work with the Heads of Marketing and Group Marketing leads with a coaching-style, giving EEC's talented marketers room to grow, with guidance on best practice improvements
  • Suggest recommended organisational structures for your marketing division, and effectively communicate these proposed role changes with stakeholders, from leadership to finance, to secure your vision
  • Identify skill gaps in the portfolio, and create hiring, onboarding and upskilling plans to fill these, with a focus on growing specialist marketing functions to drive further improvement
  • A consistent commitment to being an inspirational leader, coaching and developing your team, setting in place training, creating development plans, ensuring team retention and stability and, most importantly, inspiring your team with a passion for their roles
  • Coach marketing teams to build exceptional event-level marketing strategies, that set out strategic marketing objectives, and tactical delivery plans
  • Build a culture of brand and messaging excellence in the marketing division
  • Champion data at the heart of what we do, from the use of data to build insight-led campaigns through to enriched data experiences
  • Embed a culture of experimentation, innovation and an agile growth mindset
  • Build a division with a focus on customer retention through the delivery of exceptional customer experiences, helping drive forward improvement plans for the customer journey
  • Focus on growing high value audiences across both visitor acquisition and lead generation
  • Create an environment where content marketing is considered and involved at every step of the event journey, to build and expand on data growth and engagement
  • Work with the commercial marketing function to ensure delivery of MQL targets
  • Operate with a sustainable mindset, from embedding a culture of wellbeing within your own team, through to promoting sustainable practices at our events
  • Oversee all budgets in the portfolio, aligning the individual product owners and Heads of Marketing to ensure marketing spend is effective in driving ROI, and identifying trends and patterns of spend
  • Champion the adoption and optimisation of marketing technology solutions for a future-facing approach to digital, working with the Marketing Performance Director to ensure mature marketing adoption levels within the division
  • Embed a strong culture of collaboration with other marketing leaders, finding opportunity for streamlining, standardisation and automation to ensure best practice is implemented across EMEA marketing
  • Act as a change management ambassador, demonstrating a positive and constructive attitude towards challenges and change
  • Reflect the high-performance culture of the EMEA marketing leadership team


Qualifications


Background Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in marketing
  • Experience of driving a strong marketing team is essential you have managed large teams and know how to motivate, how to develop top talent and how to inspire the team to create brilliant and successful marketing campaigns
  • Exceptional strategic marketing skills
  • Thorough understanding & experience of digital (PPC, SEO, online advertising) and direct marketing
  • Database development and growth including advanced approach to analytics
  • Commercially driven
  • Experience of working across multiple event products at once
  • Well versed in contributing to product development and working closely with the stakeholders to help define the future of the products
  • Analytical and questioning mindset
  • Technology savvy. Able to quickly adopt and help the team work with new technology solutions.
  • Event marketing experience
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
