Job Title: Material Coordinator - Aluminum and Glass Industry
- Location: Dubai Industrial City ( DIC)
- Reports To: Head of Material Coordination Team
The Material Coordinator will be responsible for managing the procurement, inventory, and distribution of materials for projects within the aluminum and glass industry. This role ensures that materials are available when needed, properly stored, and efficiently utilized to support project timelines and budgets. The ideal candidate will have experience in materials management, strong organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of aluminum and glass products.
Procurement:
- Source and purchase materials required for projects, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of material inventories, including quantities, locations, and usage.
Implement and oversee inventory control systems to minimize waste and ensure efficient material use.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Material Handling and Storage:
- Coordinate the receipt, inspection, and storage of materials.
Ensure materials are stored safely and in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Oversee the proper labeling and organization of materials for easy identification and access.
Distribution and Logistics:
- Coordinate the timely delivery of materials to project sites, ensuring minimal disruption to project schedules.
Manage logistics, including transportation and handling, to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor and track material deliveries to ensure they meet project timelines.
Coordination and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand material requirements and project schedules.
Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any material-related issues.
- Provide regular updates on material status and availability to project teams.
Cost Control and Reporting:
- Monitor and control material costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Prepare and maintain accurate records of material expenditures and usage.
- Generate regular reports on material status, inventory levels, and procurement activities.
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in materials management, preferably within the aluminum and glass industry or construction sector.
Strong understanding of procurement, inventory control, and logistics.- Proficiency in inventory management software and systems.
Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards.
Must be well versed with Good Received Notes ( GRN)
- Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in supply chain management or materials management.
- Experience with project management software.
* Knowledge of aluminum and glass materials and their applications.
