Job Description Summary
The Regional Customs Leader will work with the Customs and Compliance team to secure the efficiency, competence and compliance of the import and export activities for Grid Solutions within the MEA region and secures the collaboration and integration of the operations with individual country operations within the Region such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, UEA, Egypt.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review, Modify & Implement strategy for Customs operations in the region, aligned with Grid Customs organization and Customs Enterprise Standard
- Get To Know and keep up to date Customs landscape within region.
- Identify Customs risks areas with support of Customs Compliance and develop actionable plans and procedures to mitigate those risks
- Execute Business level SOWs in accordance with Sourcing Policy and MSA framework with Customs Agents and BPOs.
- Review the customs processes, implement & update the SOPs with the business.
- Work with approved agents to support daily customs clearances and own shipment issue resolution
- Manage operational and tactical agent performance, Participate in Business operations reviews with agents to address their areas of concern.
- Prepare periodic reports and metrics on primary KPIs (volume, cycle time, FPY, duty spend, entered value) quality, costs, opportunities, risks, achievements
- Own performance review with businesses to implement the improvements and align on savings opportunities.
- Manage the relationship with Local Customs authorities and support with internal and external audits/consultations
- Ensure the pre-declaration review is performed including confirmation that valuation, classification, country of origin and any applicable special program documentation is complete before an import or export occurs
- Manage special programs opportunities linked to exemption/reduction/suspension of customs taxes.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of import/export regulation in the countries within the region
- Proficiency in English, Arabic are must, Turkish speaking skill is nice to have
- Bachelor degree from relevant departments such as Law, Engineering etc.
- Advanced experience in customs processes
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Program (Excel, Ppt. etc.)
- Excellent stakeholder management experience in a multinational organization
- Experience in regulations in electrical components, custom advice, regulation preparation, identifying the risk
- Similar industry experience as a counselor
