Chemanol is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer for our Project Department, responsible for overseeing all aspects of mechanical engineering (design review, construction, commissioning & testing activities) for piping, rotating equipment, static equipment and fired equipment in capital projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and execute the mechanical scope of the capital projects from inception to final turnover, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Develop comprehensive project proposals and bid packages, encompassing mechanical engineering scope definition, scheduling, and cost estimation.
- Lead the mechanical engineering design for new installations and upgrades, including mechanical modifications to existing facilities.
- Review project proposals and mechanical detailed design packages related to piping, rotating equipment, static equipment, and fired equipment.
- Manage contractor mechanical activities, including design development, procurement, and resolution of construction issues.
- Providing support to facilitate mechanical construction activities and ensure timely completion according to the project plan.
- Maintain adherence to company standards, procedures, and policies throughout project execution.
- Participate in testing and commissioning activities for mechanical equipment and facilities including piping, ensuring seamless integration into operations.
- Update and maintain mechanical engineering documentation and drawings to reflect project changes and modifications.
- Assists in the training, development and mentoring of younger staff
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in executing capital projects within Oil & Gas/ Petrochemical industries. Including at least 4 years experience as a mechanical design engineer, with expertise in mechanical design works.
- Proficiency in engineering design and construction practices, with in-depth knowledge of international engineering codes, standards, and specifications of Mechanical Engineering (ASME, API, etc).
- Experience with mechanical engineering calculations and software, including 3D modeling, Smart Plant, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Caesar, piping stress analysis, and FEA simulations.
