Position: Mechanical Engineer . - Repair and Maintenance
Location: Nigeria
Salary : 1000 -2000 USD
Plus Accommodation, visa and tickets
Note : Salaries are paid every 3 months .
Job Brief
The Incumbent will direct, and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and ensure continuous production/operations and he /she will be responsible for all aspects of maintenance, development, and testing activities to ensure the business objectives/production target are met. He will ensure and maintain the highest levels of workmanship for all maintenance activities.
Objectives of this role:
Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify any potential issues or malfunctions.
Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components as needed.
Respond to breakdowns and emergencies promptly to minimize downtime.
Ensure there is no production loss or quality issues due to prolonged maintenance issues of machines.
Adhere to all service level agreements (SLAs) and standard operating procedures and suggest changes and updating wherever and whenever necessary.
Prepare list of critical and important spares and ensure availability of spares part by maintaining minimum stocks level with engineering stores for faster resolutions.
Offer technical support to other departments to address equipment-related issues.
Respond to emergency maintenance situations outside of regular working hours.
Assist Manager/seniors in Installation of new machines as per the guidelines given by the manufacturer/seniors.
Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
Conduct safety inspections and implement measures to enhance workplace safety.
Provide training to operators and other staff on proper equipment use and basic maintenance tasks.
Develops preventive maintenance program/schedules in conjunction with production team.
Execute preventive maintenance schedule on production floor and maintain dashboards and health card of each machine to track its performances.
Proactively educate workforce and supervisor to give first aid solution on shop floor by tagging guidelines of machine use.
Complete documentation of preventive maintenance for internal and external audit also ensure it has helped in efficiencies and productivity of machines.
Work Skills:
Should have proven experience in maintenance engineering roles within a manufacturing unit.
Should have a strong technical knowledge of extrusion machinery and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, with hands-on experience in performing repairs and adjustments.
Familiar with preventive maintenance practices and spares management.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in conducting maintenance checks and documenting.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
He should be a Degree/Diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering /Electrical Engineering or any related field with 6-8 years of relevant experience.
