As MGE Manager your job purpose to Manage and lead a high-performing team to develop creative Meetings, Groups and Events (MGE) proposals and devise Compelling solutions to meet client objectives whilst driving revenues and delivering extraordinary levels of customer service. Develop and drive the MGE plan supported by an annual sales plan to enable the MGE department to Meet targets for revenue growth, profitability and market share. Represent the business in negotiations, evaluating Opportunities in line with growth plans of the dnata Travel Management brand.
In This Role, You Will:
Plan
- Identify, develop and drive the plan of MGE department to deliver business growth targets and profitability. Ensure alignment between MGE department strategy and initiatives and the dnata Travel Management strategy;
- Establish and manage networks at the highest levels within government and corporate sectors, as well as worldwide MGE service providers, to promote the MGE business globally and in particular with a focus on the Gulf region as a destination;
- Enhance sales with potential existing customer base as well as cultivating new customers to align with the overall sales strategy.
Deploy
- Ensure effective relationships with corporate customers, global destination management companies, hotel partners and technology providers.
Lead
- Attend local and international trade shows, sales trips and networking events where required representing the company;
- As a member of the dnata Travel Management Team, champion a culture of open communication, clear direction, accountability, collaboration and performance management to deliver against the one dnata vision mission and values;
- Define performance objectives for direct reports and cascade performance objectives for implementation at all levels in the MGE structure;
- Set and monitor development plans for direct reports; identify improvement areas requiring formal intervention and training both on an individual and department basis.
Execute
- Be accountable for the achievement of revenue targets and profitability for the MGE department, Monitor the MGE budget and recommend manpower requirements for the department, Ensure of effective utilization of overhead expenses and manpower resources.
- Ensure the overall profitability of all MGE sales and return on investment for all marketing efforts with corporate customers;
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the MGE department ensuring the highest possible service and safety standards for both customers and employees;
- Ensure operational excellence and service in the MGE department, by constantly reviewing and enhancing the standard operating procedures, and service delivery standards;
- Adhere to dnata Travel and Emirates Group governance standards; identify, develop and implement required standards relevant for the MGE department.
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- University degree in Travel and Tourism or a related discipline.
- 8 years of work experience, at least 5 years of which are in management/supervisory capacity in a sales or management function in a DMC, Hotel or a Meetings & Events company.
- Proven track record of selling creative and innovative solutions to customers with a focus on achieving higher margins.
- Proven ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment.
- Systematic and logical approach to solving problems.
- Strong leadership skills and can work well as a team player.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, pro-active and flexible.
- Familiarity with MEI destination products preferred.
- Deep knowledge of the travel industry and MGE consumer behavior, using market intelligence on various trends to inform decisions (e.g. competitor activity).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (additional languages advantageous).
