Job Description:
Position Overview: The Network Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of the company's network infrastructure. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network engineering and a proven track record of managing complex network environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the network engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Design, implement, and manage a robust network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN.
- Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security measures.
- Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to optimize performance and reliability.
- Develop and enforce network policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the integrity and availability of the network.
- Collaborate with IT, security, and other departments to design and implement network solutions that meet business requirements.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, integrating them into the network infrastructure as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Lead network-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience (7+ years) in network engineering, with at least 1 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, and QoS.
- Experience with network security technologies and best practices, including firewalls and VPNs.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and solutions.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark).
