Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled NOC Team Lead to join our dynamic Network Operations Center (NOC) team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the 24/7 monitoring and management of our telecom network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and service reliability. As a team lead, you will guide, mentor, and support NOC engineers and technicians, manage network incidents, and collaborate across departments to maintain the highest standards of network uptime and customer satisfaction.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of NOC engineers and technicians, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality customer service within the Network Operations Center.
- Network Monitoring: Supervise the continuous monitoring of telecom network performance using industry-standard tools and proactively identify and resolve network issues.
- Incident Management: Oversee the management of network incidents and service disruptions, ensuring rapid detection, troubleshooting, and resolution to minimize downtime and impact on customers.
- Escalation Management: Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network issues, coordinating with senior technical teams and vendors to resolve critical problems promptly.
- Performance Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of network incidents, resolutions, and performance metrics. Provide regular status reports and insights to senior management.
- Process Optimization: Continuously review and enhance NOC processes to improve efficiency, reduce incident response times, and ensure the best possible network performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, IT, and operations teams to address network issues, plan maintenance activities, and ensure overall network reliability.
- Training & Development: Design and implement training programs for NOC staff to ensure they stay updated with new technologies, industry standards, and best practices in telecom network management.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a NOC or telecom network operations role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
Technical Competencies:
- Strong understanding of telecom network protocols and technologies (e.g., IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VoIP, SD-WAN).
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, etc.).
- Familiarity with telecom-specific infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Experience with troubleshooting telecom network issues, including voice, data, and video services.
Core Competencies:
- Proven leadership ability, with experience managing, mentoring, and motivating a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of quickly diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple incidents simultaneously in a high-availability environment.
