Role Description
This is a part-time hybrid role for a Non-Executive Director at a leading business conglomerate based in the United Arab Emirates. The Director will be involved in While the role is primarily located in Dubai, some remote work is acceptable.
The NED will be a member of the company's board of directors and will not have any day-to-day operational responsibilities within the organization. They will have independent oversight across strategic decision-making, governance, and providing expert advice to the executive team. Their primary focus is on governance, strategy, and risk management.
The NED will oversee key areas such as but not limited to the following;
- Strategy: Constructively challenge, assess, and contribute to the development of strategy and go-to-market plans. As an independent member of the organisation, the NED will have a wider view of key factors influencing strategic execution and will provide insight into key headwinds the organization may face.
- Performance: Provide oversight to the performance of management in meeting-agreed goals, KPIs, and objectives and monitoring and, where necessary, removing senior management. The NED will also provide expertise in the areas of succession planning.
- Risk: Non-executive directors must oversee the quality of financial information that is being presented to the board, and ensure it is accurate. The NED must confirm that financial controls and systems of risk management are robust and defensible.
- People: Assisting the business and board connect with networks of people who are critical to the success of the company's strategy. The NED may be expected to assist with connections contacts, and at times opening doors at a high level.
Qualifications
- Leadership, Strategic Planning, and Governance skills
- Experience in senior executive roles or board positions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Financial literacy and experience with budget oversight
- Ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions
- Experience in the recruitment or HR industry is a plus
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field
