The Tawam Molecular Imaging Centre (TMIC) is an outpatient imaging facility that specializes in PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography), a cutting-edge imaging modality. The centre also features an onsite Cyclotron, where radioactive isotopes are produced specifically for our patients, ensuring the highest quality of care and precision in imaging.
Role Overview
The role is responsible to, independently or under the supervision of senior technologists, conduct all operations related to nuclear medicine. The role is also responsible to make sure that all standards of operational procedures are being followed.
Responsibilities
- Review examination orders and prepare for exams under supervision.
- Prepare and perform quality control on radiopharmaceuticals for patient studies.
- Conduct calibration, chemical purity checks, and monitor yields to prevent radiation exposure.
- Determine appropriate radiopharmaceutical and dosage, consulting with physicians as needed.
- Interact with patients, explaining procedures and assisting with positioning.
- Program image recording systems and forward recorded images in the correct format.
- Develop and label film with patient data, including dosage and equipment used.
- Follow radiation safety protocols, including the use of protective equipment.
- Document all studies performed, updating patient examination history files.
- Complete billing, consultation, and documentation procedures related to exams.
Qualifications
Education
BSc degree (4-year curriculum) from an accredited program or equivalent qualification of NLT 3 years duration
OR
Associate degree (2-year curriculum) or 2 year certificate from an accredited program or equivalent
OR
Graduate from an accredited program (NLT 3 years duration) in radiography/Radiology
Experience
At least 2 years of experience
License and Certifications
Registration or certification from ARRT, N.M.T.C.B or equivalent
Current National License
