Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Head Nurse at Quttainah Specialized Hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Head Nurse with dermatology experience is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff in a dermatology clinic or department, ensuring excellent patient care, and maintaining high clinical standards. This role involves direct patient care, managing nursing operations, training staff, and working closely with dermatologists and administrative personnel to ensure seamless clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Management:
Lead and supervise the nursing team in the dermatology department, ensuring all procedures and standards are followed.
Oversee staff schedules, manage assignments, and ensure adequate staffing levels for patient care.
Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and mentor nursing staff.
Facilitate continuous training and education for nursing staff, particularly in dermatological procedures and patient care techniques.
2. Patient Care:
Provide expert nursing care in dermatological treatments, including skin examinations, biopsies, cryotherapy, laser treatments, chemical peels, and other cosmetic or medical dermatology procedures.
Assist dermatologists during examinations and procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients.
Manage patient education on skin care, treatment plans, and post-procedural care.
Ensure patients medical records are accurate and updated in a timely manner.
3. Clinical Operations:
Ensure that the dermatology clinic adheres to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a sterile and organized environment.
Oversee inventory management, ensuring that all necessary dermatology supplies, medications, and equipment are stocked and functional.
Monitor patient flow to ensure efficiency and minimize wait times.
Implement and update clinical protocols and policies to improve patient care and safety standards.
4. Collaboration:
Work closely with dermatologists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care strategies.
Communicate effectively with administrative staff to manage patient appointments, billing, and documentation processes.
Liaise with external providers and vendors for the procurement of dermatology-related equipment and materials.
5. Quality Assurance & Improvement:
Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, ensuring compliance with clinical standards.
Implement initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and overall clinical efficiency.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in dermatological treatments, technologies, and procedures.
6. Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal healthcare regulations, especially related to dermatological care.
Manage infection control protocols, maintain proper documentation, and ensure adherence to patient confidentiality and safety standards.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
Licensure: Must hold an active RN DHA license.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2-3 years in dermatology or a related specialty.
Certifications: Certified Dermatology Nurse (CDN) or related certifications are a plus.
