Acted Occupied Palestinian Territory - OPT

Acted has been present in the West Bank since 2007 and Gaza since 2008, with 3 offices in Jerusalem, Ramallah and Gaza. The NGO intervenes to meet the needs of vulnerable populations whose living conditions have deteriorated in recent years. The teams address urgent needs, support the rehabilitation and reconstruction of homes and agricultural assets. Beyond recovery programming, Acted is also carrying out innovative initiatives to strengthen populations capacities in the areas of digital technologies, tourism and social entrepreneurship.

You will be in charge of

The Country Logistics Officer assist the Country Logistics Manager for supply chain management intended to program implementation in country, as well as for logistical transversal management such as fleet, fuel, premises, assets & communication management. S/He should ensure compliance of all logistics operations under his/her responsibility with Acted logistics & donors procedures, best practices & national regulations, with an emphasis given to the value for money principle. He/She will also provide technical support and capacity building to the logistics staff in country. The Country Logistics Officer may also replace the CLM in his/her absence.

Main duties

1. Contribute to timely, cost efficient & transparent supply chain management in country

• Procurement
• Stocks & deliveries
• Traceability

2. Contribute to ensure timely, cost efficient & transparent transversal logistical management in country

• Fleet & transportation management
• Fuel management
• Asset management
• Premises management
• Communications & IT management

3. Ensure compliance to Acted & donors procedures in all logistics operations under his/her responsibility and actively promote logistics procedures

4. Contribute to the implementation safety & security guidelines, SOP & plans

5. Contribute to logistics staff capacity building

Expected skills and qualifications

• At least 1-2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or equivalent;
• Ability to train, mobilize, and manage teams;
• Flexibility and ability to multi-task under pressure;
• Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English;
• Autonomy, leadership, organisation;
• Previous experience abroad is an asset;

Conditions

• Salary between 1600 and 1800 monthly (before income tax), depending on the level of education, security level, etc as well as a monthly living allowance of $300
• Accommodation and food provided in Acted guesthouse
• Pension, health insurance, life insurance and repatriation assistance (& unemployment insurance for EU citizens)
• Flight tickets every 6 months & visa fees covered
• Contribution to the luggage transportation: up to 100 kgs, depending on the length of the contract
• Annual leave of 25 to 43 days per year
• One week pre-departure training in Acted HQ, including a 4-days in situ security training
