JOB CONTEXT:

The Risk Operational Manager will be responsible for managing the risk management activities of the company, which may involve working with operational staff, risk analysts, and other teams within the company. They will collaborate with other teams within the company, such as Compliance and Legal, to ensure that risk management activities are aligned with overall company goals and objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Manage the risk management activities of the company, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks.

Develop and implement strategies to improve risk management processes and procedures.

Collaborate with other teams within the company to ensure that risk management activities are aligned with overall company goals and objectives.

Monitor and analyze risk data to identify areas for improvement.

Develop and implement training programs for staff on risk management principles and best practices.

Maintain accurate records of risk management activities.

Ensure that risk management activities comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Manage budgets and expenses related to risk management activities, ensuring that expenses are within budget and that cost-saving measures are implemented when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field

Proven track record of successful management, with experience managing teams of 5 or more people

Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership

Knowledge of risk management principles and practices, including experience with operational risk management

Experience with regulatory compliance requirements and industry standards

Experience with budgeting and expense management

Professional certification in risk management, such as FRM or PRM, is preferred.

Experience:

8+ years of experience in risk management or a related field, including experience in a leadership or management role.
