Operations Manager

This is a key role for setting up and managing manufacturing of customer orders at the new facility in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, ensuring build and test to customer requirements, with business targets achieved. This role involves technical and hands-on activities, combined with supervisory responsibility for a small team. In addition to assisting with setup of the production process you will be responsible for conducting build & test of production orders and troubleshooting any issues that arise.

Reporting to the Country Leader, in this role you will be part of a team to setup manufacturing, including assembly workstations, test equipment and material handling equipment, providing full production support to ensure daily targets are met. Prioritize company health and safety policy, identifying and introducing any Health & Safety recommendations & improvements required within your area of responsibility.

In this role you will read wiring diagrams and understand control logic and functionality of CompactDAQ (Data Acquisition), understand the functionality of power management, including DC power supplies, and Variable AC power transformers, develop and implement standard operating procedures and work standards across all areas of responsibility, ensuring ensure they are kept up to date and followed by all staff, conduct training as required and coordinate recruitment of additional staff, when needed.

This role would suit a determined problem-solver, who can think logically for troubleshooting issues and ensure that corrective actions are taken immediately, to resolve root causes are implemented as soon as possible. Able to conduct daily meetings to report performance and address production issues.

Experience Requirements:

• Diploma or University Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing related subject.
• Over 8 years experience within an Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering background, with a working knowledge and understanding of assembly production processes.
• Experience with production validation exercises including developing or executing test plans is preferred.
• Strong electro-mechanical skills to enable setup, integration, validation and troubleshooting of production test rigs.
• Experience operating MRP/ERP systems.
• Good understanding of ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 requirements
• Strong understanding of the technical, safety, and quality elements related to explosion proof area product certifications.
• Effective at prioritizing and organizing tasks.
• Ability to work with staff at differing levels, a strong team player, excellent communication skills with strong customer focus.
• Experience working within a global multi-cultural organization.
• Strong computer and data collection system literacy, analysis and presentation. Proven presentation skills, including use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Fluent English

The Successful Candidate:

• Experience of supervision and management of people.
• Preferable knowledge on operate D365 system.
• Understanding of Lean Six Sigma methods for improving operational performance.
• Good understanding of Key Performance Indicators and their impact.
• Experience using a Tier Reporting process, both leading at a functional level and reporting to Senior Management.
• Communicate effectively with the local team on a regular basis.
• Strong problem-solving techniques.
