About the role
As a retail Optometrist, you will conduct thorough eye examination using advanced diagnostic tools to assess vision and ocular health. You will diagnose and mange various eye conditions, such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, glaucoma, cataracts and retinal disorders. A key part of your role will be to prescribe corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses tailored to patients specific needs
Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Make the most effective use of space and stock available to the boutique by maximizing sales
Ensure customer focus is prioritised at all times.
Achieve sales budget for assigned boutique by dispending and selling optical frames, contact lenses and sunglasses
Checking optical frames and contact lenses for accuracy and comfort.
Advising customers on eye wear options, optical lenses and contact lenses.
Supporting sales team in their day to day transactions.
Undertake stock transfers across locations based on sales trends and inputs from the Buying team and
Retail Operations Management.
Develop personalized treatment plans and provide follow-up care to monitor patient progress.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up visits
Communicate effectively with patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring they understand their eye health and treatment options

Qualifications
About you
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
High School Qualification, Vocational Qualification, Diploma or equivalent with minimum 3 years of job-related experience; OR
Bachelors Degree or equivalent with minimum 2 years of job-related experience
A valid QCHP Optometrist practicing license
Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills
Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
Analytical and problem solving skills.
Communication skills (written and verbal English)
Multifunctional skill base (financial, operations as well as sales techniques).
Persuasiveness and tenacity to sell ideas.
High level of initiative and assertiveness.
Proficient in Microsoft office especially Word/Excel.
