We are looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of cold desserts, pastries or other sweet goods. Your skill in baking high quality cold treats should be matched by your creativity to develop new amazing tastes and recipes. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious creations.
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, breads etc. with modern recipes.
Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers- Assist the management in planning of food budgets and forecasts pertaining to the Pastries.
Schedule and coordinate the work of Kitchen Saff to ensure that food preparation is on time and within budget.
- Produce all pastry goods from scratch as required by the menu, work on the develoment of new menu items and limited editions.
Design and develop detailed food specifications.- Train kitchen team and assistants in relevant aspects of pastry.
Assist management in developing standard recipes and techniques for goods preparation and presentation.
- Help assure consistency, high quality and manage food cost down to component level.
Assist in the ordering of food ingredients in line with product specification.- Participate in all stock inventories.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is correctly used, cleaned, and maintained.
- Attends management meetings on behalf of the kitchen team.
Assist in managing relationships with ingredient suppliers.- Interact in a positive manner with employees and managers in other departments ensuring good inter departmental communication is maintained at all times.
Manage all HACCP requirements in line with company procedures.
- Adhere to government and municipality regulations as well as our standards and company policies and procedures.
Ensure a safe workplace by identifying hazards and taking corrective actions.
4+ Years Proven Experience is required.- Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role
Great attention to detail and creativity
- Organizing and leadership skills
Fast and accurate with fast paced developments- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutritions.
Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field in a preferability.
