Job Title: Pastry Chef at Sugar Taste

Job brief

We are hiring an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef to join Sugar Taste team.

A Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing and baking various goods, such as cakes, cookies, pies, and bread, following traditional and modern recipes. Also create new and exciting desserts to enhance menus and engage customers. Additionally, Pastry Chef decorates pastries using different icings and toppings to ensure visually appealing presentations. Pastry Chef manage ingredient stocks, maintain equipment, guide and train staff, and ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards.

Your expertise in preparing a variety of mouthwatering desserts and pastries, combined with your creative flair for developing unique tastes and recipes, will be essential in delighting our customers.

As an ideal candidate, you should have a strong background in culinary arts and a genuine passion for creating sweet and delectable treats.

Your commitment to upholding health and safety standards is crucial to ensuring the highest quality of service to our clients.

Mandatory Requirements:

-Based in Qatar.

-Work full time for 6 days a week.

-Proficient in English language skills in both written and verbal.

-Has Sponsorship Transfer and can join immediately.

Education:

oDiploma or higher-level degree.

oCulinary degree, such as certificate in culinary arts, cakes-making, baking, or relevant field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as Pastry Chef, baker, or senior relevant role.

Requirements and skills:

  • Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role.
  • Great attention to detail and creativity.
  • Organizing , time management and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to replenish professional knowledge.
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition.
  • Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)

Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field.

Punctuality and discipline to ensure optimal work performance.

Duties and responsibilities:

The Pastry Chef role can be demanding. A Pastry Chef may have a variety of duties, including to:

  • Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen, working together with the other chef and team members.
  • Prepare a variety of baked goods.
  • Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way.
  • Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment.
  • Develop and mastermindcomprehensive desserts menu.
  • Meet with customers to discuss custom-made desserts or baked goods for special occasions.
  • Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations.
  • Identify staffing needs, help to recruit new personnel and train them.
  • Develop new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends
  • Creativity to design new and unique menu items to attract customers.
  • Knowledge of how baking ingredients work together and how they can be used in creative ways.
  • Leadership skills to manage the pastry section and staff in a kitchen, including hiring the right staff and motivating workers in a high-stress environment.
  • Time management skills to deliver orders on schedule and avoid wasting food.
  • Physical strength and stamina to spend long hours standing and performing repetitive motions.
  • Flexibility, since hours for a Pastry Chef may vary and include weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Performing administrative duties in the kitchen when needed.
