The Role
As the Paymaster, you will oversee the payroll process for all team members, ensuring accurate and timely payment while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. Your meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills will be vital in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring employee satisfaction.
Key Areas of Responsibilities

- Payroll Processing: Manage the full payroll cycle, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and benefits for all team members.
- Timekeeping Management: Oversee the collection and verification of timesheets and attendance records to ensure accuracy in payroll processing.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and internal policies related to payroll and employee compensation.
- Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports, providing insights into labor costs and trends for management review.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any payroll-related inquiries or discrepancies from team members in a timely and professional manner.
- System Maintenance: Maintain and update payroll systems and databases to ensure accurate and confidential record-keeping.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the HR department to support employee onboarding, terminations, and changes in employment status that impact payroll.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for streamlining payroll processes and enhancing efficiency, implementing best practices as necessary.
Qualifications and Standards
To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 - 5 experience in payroll management or related finance roles, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing payroll and financial records.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel; familiarity with HRIS systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Regulations: In-depth knowledge of labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards related to payroll.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and support employees on payroll-related matters.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
