About the Role:
An innovative fintech - financial platform in the MENA region is looking for a dedicated
Payments Specialist to join its Operations team. This role is key to providing seamless support for both local and international transactions, ensuring high-quality service while working in a fast-paced, agile environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payments, a strong understanding of UAE banking regulations, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering team transforming digital banking in the region.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Processing: Handles local and foreign currency transactions, and manages any payment-related investigations
- Query Resolution: Responds to inquiries from other banks, raises RFIs (Requests for Information) with clients, and addresses Transaction Screening and Monitoring alerts related to payment transactions
- Customer Interaction: Engages with customers to provide assistance and resolve issues, ensuring an excellent standard of customer service
- Process Improvement Collaboration: Collaborates with product and technology teams to suggest and implement improvements in payment processes, enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency
- Internal Team Support: Works closely with internal teams to resolve customer issues efficiently
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience and Knowledge:
- Strong background in local and international payment processes, investigation, and dispute management
- Familiarity with UAE Central Bank regulations for payments
- Knowledge of SWIFT and related processes
- Experience in cheque processing (preferred)
- Core Competencies:
- Excellent problem-solving skills, especially in situations where processes may not be clearly defined
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex procedures for customers
- Proven teamwork abilities and capacity to support colleagues in a high-energy environment
- Flexibility and adaptability in a startup environment, with a passion for continuous learning
- Language Requirements:
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential
- Arabic language proficiency is a plus
