POSITION PURPOSE:
The Payroll and Employee Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire payroll process to ensure employees are compensated accurately and on time for S+ & its clients. The role also manages employee services, such as handling employee inquiries, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and maintaining employee records. This position ensures that all payroll activities align with organizational policies and legal requirements while continuously improving service delivery.
Role Description
- Provide strategic leadership and guidance for the payroll and employee services functions across S+ and its clients, ensuring seamless operations that align with the overall business strategy.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team by setting clear objectives, providing continuous feedback, and facilitating professional growth opportunities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for escalated payroll and employee service issues, driving timely and effective resolutions.
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate salary payout for both internal employees and client organizations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and process requirements in multiple authorities, mitigating risks and avoiding penalties.
- Lead the implementation and optimization of payroll systems and technologies, driving automation and reducing manual processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data and processes to ensure integrity and compliance, identifying and addressing any discrepancies proactively.
- Oversee and continuously improve the delivery of employee services, including onboarding, offboarding, employee inquiries, and benefits administration.
- Develop and implement employee service standards and policies that promote a positive employee experience while ensuring consistency across S+ and its clients.
- Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, Legal, and other departments to ensure a holistic approach to employee service delivery, aligning with organizational objectives and client needs.
- Actively monitor and analyze service metrics, leveraging data to drive continuous improvement in service quality, responsiveness, and employee satisfaction.
- Serve as the key liaison between S+ and its clients regarding payroll and employee services, ensuring client expectations are met or exceeded.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with client HR and Finance teams, understanding their unique needs and tailoring services accordingly.
- Provide clients with regular reports and insights on payroll and employee service performance, highlighting achievements, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending solutions.
- Lead the onboarding of new clients, ensuring a smooth transition of payroll and employee service processes while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
- Identify and lead strategic initiatives to enhance payroll and employee service delivery, focusing on innovation, efficiency, and scalability.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes, ensuring that S+ and its clients remain compliant and competitive.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align payroll and employee service strategies with broader organizational goals, contributing to the overall success of S+.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the payroll and employee services teams, encouraging innovation and the adoption of best practices.
- Proactively manage risks related to payroll and employee services, ensuring that all processes are compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
- Prepare for and lead audits related to payroll and employee services, ensuring all documentation and processes are audit ready.
QUALIFICATIONS AND RELEVANT ROLES/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in human resources, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in payroll and employee services.
- Prior experience in a managerial role.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional - CPP) would be an advantage.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment is beneficial.
