A Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) In-Charge in the automotive industry is responsible for ensuring vehicles meet quality standards before delivery to customers.
Responsibilities:
- PDI Process Management: Oversee and manage the PDI team, ensuring that every vehicle undergoes thorough inspection and meets all quality and safety standards.
- Inspection and Quality Control: Conduct inspections on new vehicles, ensuring that each car is checked for any defects, compliance with specifications, and is ready for customer delivery.
- Team Leadership and Training: Lead and train the PDI team on inspection protocols, quality standards, and safety practices.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results, any repairs or adjustments made, and overall vehicle status.
- Inventory Management: Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics team for proper vehicle allocation and ensure timely vehicle preparation.
- Customer Service Support: Work closely with the sales and aftersales departments to ensure that all vehicles meet customer expectations.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all inspections and work comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements in the PDI workflow to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Performance Indicators
- Inspection Completion Rate: Percentage of vehicles inspected and ready for delivery within the specified timeframe.
- Quality Inspection Pass Rate: The percentage of vehicles that pass the inspection on the first attempt without requiring rework.
- Turnaround Time: Average time taken to complete the PDI process per vehicle.
- Customer Satisfaction: Feedback score from sales or customer service based on vehicle condition upon delivery.
- Defect Rate: Number of defects identified during the PDI that were attributed to previous stages, aiming for lower rates as quality improves.
- Efficiency Improvement: Success in implementing process improvements, measured by faster inspection times or higher first-pass rates.
- Team Productivity: Measured by the number of vehicles processed per inspector and overall team throughput.
- Compliance and Safety Score: Adherence to safety and compliance standards, with minimal safety incidents.
Qualification:
- A diploma or degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is often preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in PDI, vehicle inspection, or quality control within the automotive industry, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or incharge role.
- Familiarity with PDI standards, quality control processes, and compliance in automotive settings.
- An eye for detail to ensure vehicles meet all quality and safety standards before delivery.
- Awareness of local regulatory requirements and compliance standards for vehicle inspection and roadworthiness in the UAE.
- UAE Driver's License (Preferred)
